چکیده
Bioherbicides are naturally originated products posing alternatives to synthetic herbicides for weed control. The objective of this study was evaluate the efficacy pelargonic acid and microencapsulated caraway essential oil on barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli (L.) P.Beauv.) johnsongrass (Sorghum halepense Pers.). Two separate pot experiments were conducted at Agricultural University Athens (spring 2021), arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) with six control treatments replicated four times. Treatments included applications of: 50 g L?1 (CAR), CAR plus commercial adjuvant (CAR + adj), i.e., alcohol ethoxylate 1.8 L?1, 36.3 (PA), PA (PA tank mixture 64 CAR). An untreated (CON) also included. results current research confirmed knock-down effect against both demonstrated low microcapsules. addition improved but did not appear affect performance acid. No synergistic effects observed between oil. Further is needed optimize use these other natural agriculture as components sustainable integrated management (IWM) systems.

The present study was undertaken to explore the bioherbicidal potential of essential oil(EO)(25 to 250μg/ml) from Eucalyptus tereticornis against one of the major weed of rice (Oryza sativa L.), i.e. Echinochloa crus – galli L. considering percent germination, root length and shoot length development chlorophyll, protein and carbohydrate content and percent cellular respiration). Studies reveal...
متن کاملCharacterization of aryl acylamidase activity from propanil-resistant barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli [L.] Beauv.)
The enzyme, aryl acylamidase, was characterized in propanil-susceptible and propanil-resistant barnyardgrass with respect to kinetic parameters, the effects of inhibitors, and the levels of activity in darkand light-grown tissues. The enzyme reaction in the resistant tissue preparation proceeded linearly with time over a 5 h time course, while activity in the susceptible tissue preparation was ...

In order to evaluate the potential of citogate and turnip vegetable oil in increasing the performance of barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli) control by colthodim and haloxyfop-r-methyl ester herbicides, two greenhouse experiments were carried out in the Research Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Birjand, Iran, in 2016; this study was based on a factorial arrangement as a completely r...
متن کاملPopulation genetics structure of glyphosate-resistant Johnsongrass (Sorghum halepense L. Pers) does not support a single origin of the resistance
Single sequence repeats (SSR) developed for Sorghum bicolor were used to characterize the genetic distance of 46 different Sorghum halepense (Johnsongrass) accessions from Argentina some of which have evolved toward glyphosate resistance. Since Johnsongrass is an allotetraploid and only one subgenome is homologous to cultivated sorghum, some SSR loci amplified up to two alleles while others (pr...
متن کاملDe novo Assembly and Characterization of the Barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli) Transcriptome Using Next-Generation Pyrosequencing
BACKGROUND Barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli) is an important weed that is a menace to rice cultivation and production. Rapid evolution of herbicide resistance in this weed makes it one of the most difficult to manage using herbicides. Since genome-wide sequence data for barnyardgrass is limited, we sequenced the transcriptomes of susceptible and resistant barnyardgrass biotypes using the 4...
